Educating the young is an admirable vocation that requires a respected qualification.
This Bachelor of Education degree, offered by Curtin University, focuses specifically on primary level teaching, and is professionally recognised across Australia.
Delivered by distance education through Open Universities Australia, this course allows you to study anytime, anywhere for a qualification that's identical to one received on campus.
If you have the calling to be a primary teacher, Curtin's Bachelor of Education (Primary) will supply you with the professional skills - and the qualification - you need to be successful.
You'll study development and education, technologies for learning, action learning in education, and how to manage students with diverse abilities. And you'll get the opportunity to put your learning into practice as you progress, thanks to your practicum placements. Please note that you will be required to complete a Working with Children check and have police clearance before undertaking your work placement.
Upon completion, you'll be eligible for registration with the West Australia College of Teachers (WACOT). This course is also recognised by all national teacher accreditation authorities.
* These units are restricted. To enrol, you must first apply for a place in the Bachelor of Education (Primary) program. For information on eligibility and application procedures, please contact a SEEK Learning consultant.
There are four study periods each year - so you can enrol anytime and start in the study period of your choice.
You're in control of your study schedule - study from home or wherever it's convenient, and in your own time. You can fast track your learning by studying during all four study periods, or take breaks in between.
