As well as appealing to anyone with a keen interest in literature, the Graduate Certificate in Literary Classics is ideal for teachers and librarians who wish to upgrade their qualifications.

This course focuses on great books and great authors, with each unit covering a small number of complete classic works of literature. Attention is given to the language, structure and themes of each work, as well as the traditions of crtical interpretation surrounding them.

You'll improve your critical thinking, reading and writing skills, and graduate with the ability to:

• Appreciate and critically analyse complex literary works
• Write clear and cogent literary criticism
• Understand and think through complex ethical questions
• Understand the relationship between literary works and the cultures in which they were produced
