Forensic mental health is where human services and the criminal justice system overlap. Specialists in this field, which include psychiatrists, psychologists, nurses, counsellors and social workers, work with offenders who have mental health problems.
This course is ideal for mental health professionals working in or intending to work in forensic mental health in areas such as health departments, corrections, families departments and disability services.
Among other things, you'll gain an understanding of the policies and legislation that's relevant to forensic mental health administration, and you'll learn how to assess, treat and manage forensic mental health patients.
You'll graduate as a highly qualified specialist ready for a career in this increasingly important field.
