Is the Edinburgh Business School (EBS) MBA well recognised?
The Edinburgh Business School (EBS) MBA is internationally recognised - and is the only foreign MBA accredited by the Australian government.
EBS is the graduate school of business of Heriot-Watt University in Edinburgh, Scotland. Courses are developed by leading academics from the university in collaboration with professors from other institutions including:
- Stanford Business School
- Tulane University
- London Business School
- Drake University
- University of Minnesota

I don't have an undergraduate degree or management experience. Can I still get into the MBA program?
The EBS MBA program is designed to be accessible even to students from non-traditonal backgrounds.
If you do not have an existing undergraduate degree or management experience, you can still qualify for the EBA MBA by completing the Postgraduate Certificate of Business Administration - which has no pre-requisites.
The modules in the Postgraduate Certificate course form part of the full MBA program. Upon completion, you can choose to exit with that qualification, or complete the remaining modules required to gain the MBA.

What are the enrolment dates for the courses?
There are no specific enrolment dates for EBS courses. You can enrol in and start your course anytime.
What are the completion dates for the courses?
EBS courses are self-paced and designed to be fully flexible. You can start anytime, and complete your course at your own pace.
As a guide, most students complete the MBA in three years, but you can take as little or as much time as you like depending on the amount of study time you have available. You can take a break from your studies anytime, and resume when you are ready.
What kind of support does EBS provide?
EBS offers a full support network for distance education students. You have online access to:
- the full resources of Heriot-Watt University's library
- faculty members and peers (through forums)
- self-assessment exercises
- administrative staff
