This TAFE child care course is especially designed for those who are working or intending to work within the children's services industry. It provides a useful introduction into understanding, caring for and supporting the development of young children.
Please note that due to legislative requirements, you need to be at least 18 years of age to gain employment in the child services industry.
As part of the course assessment, you'll need to arrange work placement for a total of 100 hours. This placement will need to be pre-approved by OTEN. Please note that your work placement must be done in Australia due to Children's Services Regulations and the qualifications the workplace supervisors must hold.
You must also complete a Senior First Aid certificate in order to receive the Certificate III in Children's Services.

Please note that you will need to complete Apply First Aid (a Senior First Aid certificate) in order to receive the Certificate III in Children's Services qualification. This can be completed through a Registered Training Organisation (RTO), such as St John Ambulance or Australian Red Cross, at your own expense.
