Course Requirements

A Prohibited Employment Declaration must be signed by students in courses where contact will be made with children. SEEK Learning will provide you with this form when you enrol.

As part of the course assessment, you'll need to undertake supervised work placement for a total of 160 hours in a mental health-specific service delivery. This will help prepare you for professional mental health work in the community services industry. Your work placement will need to be pre-approved by OTEN.

You must also complete a Senior First Aid certificate in order to receive the Certificate IV in Mental Health.

  • Assess and respond to individuals at risk of suicide
