Who is This Course for?

This diploma is ideal if you're working or seeking a career in community services, providing services to clients in relation to mental health and alcohol and other drugs issues.

You'll develop skills in counselling, referral, advocacy and education or health promotion services.

As a graduate, you'll be able to demonstrate comprehensive skills and understanding in mental health interventions and services.

Course Requirements

To gain entry into this course, you must either:

As part of the course assessment, you'll need to undertake supervised work placement for a minimum of 240 hours in the community services industry. Your work placement will need to be pre-approved by OTEN and completed within Australia.

Please be aware that you may be required to have police clearance before undertaking your work placement.

If you are unable to find work placement, you may be able to access and complete simulated workplace assessments online. You must contact your teacher prior to commencement if you choose to do this.
